Greetings ~
As this year unfolds it might help us to understand what we mean by a liturgical year. The liturgical year is a sacred rhythm that guides our journey of faith through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. It is divided into seasons—Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost—each offering unique opportunities to grow closer to God. This cycle invites us to reflect, celebrate, and live out the mysteries of our faith in community.
As we gather for worship in this Liturgical Year C, our Gospel readings primarily come from the Gospel of Luke. Luke’s Gospel beautifully highlights Jesus’ compassion for all people, especially the marginalized and those often overlooked. It calls us to embody the inclusive love of Christ and challenges us to live with mercy, justice, and humility.
We invite you to read the book of Luke as we journey through this year, and join us in worship as we open our hearts to the transformative power of the Gospel and allow its message to inspire us to be instruments of hope, kindness, and reconciliation in the world.
Blessings,
Pastor James
